Unity In The Heart of Georgia is part of the world-wide spiritual movement called Unity. Unity is a philosophy of positive spirituality which teaches that the dynamic presence and power of God lies within each and every person, and that it is each person's responsibility to access that divine power within for spiritual development, healing, prosperity, loving relationships, and all other blessings available to us.
Unity acknowledges Jesus as the way-shower and master teacher who most clearly understood and revealed the continually living, loving, active, and eternal Sacred Presence within us and within our world. We recognize the presence and power of the Christ Presence in every person, and believe Jesus showed us how to be awakened to, and live from, this inner divine nature.
We interpret the Bible metaphysically by looking beyond the surface of the words we find there to search for the deepest spiritual truths and lessons those ancient words contain. We teach that God is very real, always very present and has unlimited avenues of manifestation and expression.
To those seeking spiritual growth, Unity offers a positive, practical, progressive approach to Christianity. We believe God is abundant, loving Spirit--the unconditionally loving presence and power continually and eternally creating and sustaining all creation.
Unity supports individual spiritual growth. We provide literature--notably the monthly inspirational magazine, Daily Word ©--and have churches or centers worldwide.
Unity is a place where you can share ideas, discuss spiritual principles and learn how to respond to all circumstances in your life in practical and meaningful ways.
We believe all people are equally created with sacred worth and potential. Therefore, we recognize the importance of serving all people in spiritually and emotionally caring ways. Unity centers and churches represent and honor diversity of race, gender, age, religion, national origin, physical ability and sexual orientation.
- God is absolute good, everywhere present.
- Human beings have a spark of divinity within them, the Christ Spirit within. Their very essence is of God; therefore they are inherently good.
- Human beings create their experiences by the activity of their thinking. Everything in the manifest realm has its beginning in thought.
- Prayer is creative thinking that heightens the connection with Divine Mind and therefore brings forth wisdom, healing, prosperity and everything good.
- Knowing and understanding the laws of Life, also called Truth, are not enough. A person must also live the Truth that he or she knows.
